Memorial Evening of Tamás Cseh & Leonard Cohen
Few know that in Hungary, in the 90s a joined concert was almost realized. Leonhard Cohen, after getting to know Tamás Cseh’s songs, excepted the invitation... but the plan went up in smoke. Tamás Cseh (“Smoke” in his native American name) was the patron of Ördögkatkan Festival and it was he who ushered in the first edition of Katlan in 2008. On the second one, on 7 August 2009, all we received was the news of his death. Over the past decade, a number of musicians who admire these two songwriters began to have stronger and stronger ties to the Festival. In the sculpture garden of Nagyharsány, in the valley of live creation and time enclosed in stone, these very many musicians re-created the songs of Leonard Cohen and Tamás Cseh.
