The Berlin Golden Bear-winning French documentary "On the Adamant" is about the patients and carers of a floating psychiatric centre. The Adamant is a unique day care centre. Located in the heart of Paris, on the Seine, the floating structure welcomes adults with mental disorders and offers care that helps them recover or improve their mental state. Dedicated carers do their best to resist the decline and dehumanisation of the psychiatry profession. "On the Adamant" is a special journey: a human, sensitive, intimate creation.
On 2 November, after the screening, a professional round table discussion will take place. Eszter Benkő, head of the institution, will approach it from the perspective of supported housing for people with psychiatric illness. Szilvia Endre will represent the INSZI, which provides integrated care, Krisztián Herold will take part in the discussion as head of the Community Foundation, and Maja Simon, psychotherapist, will share her decades of professional and human experience as deputy director of the Psychiatric and Psychotherapy Clinic of the PTE KK. Journalist Balázs Kaufmann will participate as empiric expert. The discussion will be moderated by psychotherapist Amaryl Árkovits, whose professional heart is in the topic.
